II INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL "CRIMEA — TERRITORY OF PEACE"

The aim of the festival is, through short fiction and documentary films about Crimea, and animation, to show the world community that Crimea is a space where the values of creation, humanism and tolerance are priorities, and where the development of the culture and spirituality of a multinational community, regardless of the nationality and faith of the ethnic groups living here, is directed toward consolidating the forces of good and peace.

Crimea is a true little planet where, under one roof, sea and mountains, dense forests and plains, canyons and even small deserts live peacefully together. It is hard to recall another such corner of the earth where all the elements — marine, earthly and subterranean — would unite in a single impulse of beauty and passionate self-expression.

The blessed Crimean land has at all times inspired figures of art toward great creations. It is no accident that Soviet filmmakers regularly set out here, to Crimea, to shoot films.

And what a Sun there is here! It shines in Crimea 2,458 hours a year and delights residents and guests.

Crimeans have always been distinguished by two traits — open friendliness and genuine hospitality — and have always been glad of guests, have always awaited them and invited them, striving to make the guest fall forever in love with their wonderful homeland. They await guests and rejoice in them now as well. It is precisely of this that our Film Festival «Crimea — Territory of Peace» speaks.

To popularize, support and develop Russian cinematography, revive the Yalta Film Studio and increase the «tourist flow», the Peacemaker Foundation initiated the holding of the 2nd International Film Festival «Crimea — Territory of Peace».

The solemn ceremonies of the Festival's opening and closing will be held in Yalta; screenings of the festival film programmes will take place in health resorts, cinemas and cultural institutions of Simferopol, Yevpatoria, Alushta, Krasnoperekopsk, Dzhankoy, Yalta, Sudak, Feodosia and Kerch. Within the framework of the festival it is planned to hold creative meetings and master classes of filmmakers — members of the festival jury, concert programmes of well-known Russian and foreign performers, and meetings with renowned peacemakers, Knights of the awards of the World Charitable Alliance Peacemaker.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS OF THE FESTIVAL'S IMPLEMENTATION:

• Expected audience — 2,500,000 residents and guests of the Republic of Crimea.
• Number of spectators served — not fewer than 50,000 people.
• Venues — more than 20.
• Creative meetings — more than 10.
• Film screenings — 100.
• Active coverage of events in the media: information about the festival's events will be broadcast on federal and regional television and radio channels.
