"CINEMA IN THE NAME OF PEACE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FUTURE"

The most important task of our time is the revival of the brilliant traditions of national cinematography, on the basis of which Russia’s full return among the world’s film powers will become possible. This high purpose is served by the socio-cultural programme “Cinema in the Name of Peace, for the Benefit of the Future.”

Russian culture, widely known throughout the world, has always been distinguished by a special scale: global ideas, monumental embodiment, breadth of vision. Rich in talents, it has given world art a whole galaxy of genius writers, poets, composers, painters and directors. A. S. Pushkin, L. N. Tolstoy, F. M. Dostoevsky, S. V. Rachmaninoff, V. V. Kandinsky, A. M. Rodchenko, S. M. Eisenstein…

Without these names, not only Russian but also world contemporary culture is unthinkable.

One of the fields of art in which Russia played a leading role was cinematography. The innovative films of S. M. Eisenstein were received with enthusiasm in the West and honoured with many international awards. This brilliant tradition was continued by the pictures of M. M. Romm, M. K. Kalatozov, S. F. Bondarchuk and A. A. Tarkovsky.

A talented and, above all, precise reflection of the very essence of Russian culture turned these films into unsurpassed masterpieces. Today, when the ancestral traditions of Russian art have found themselves on the brink of oblivion, the question of reviving the national cultural heritage arises with particular urgency. A foremost role in this difficult cause is played by cinematography, which in the contemporary world is the principal and most mass form of art, the strongest in the degree of its emotional effect upon a person.

The most important task of our time is the revival of the brilliant traditions of national cinematography, on the basis of which Russia’s full return among the world’s film powers will become possible. This high purpose is served by the socio-cultural programme “Cinema in the Name of Peace, for the Benefit of the Future,” developed by the Peacemaker Foundation together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea and implemented by the Yalta Film Studio under the aegis of the World Charitable Alliance Peacemaker.

According to the programme, the production and distribution of 52 social short films is planned for 2016, called upon to promote the ideas of peace, a happy family, the protection of childhood, respect for people of the older generation and a careful attitude toward nature.

The noble cause of reviving Russian cinematography is impossible without the support of patrons. We invite you to support our programme and become a co-producer of the social films that our country so greatly needs.

On average, the production of one short film costs 200,000 ₽; the Peacemaker Foundation takes upon itself half of the costs of shooting the film. You may choose the film that is closest to your heart and worthy of your attention.

As a token of gratitude, as a noble person and patron, you will be presented with the international public award of the World Charitable Alliance Peacemaker — the medal “Noble Heart.” The logo of your company and your name will be immortalised in the film credits, and your organisation will become an honorary partner of the II International Film Festival “Crimea — Territory of Peace.”

You may be sure that every rouble of your charitable donations will go to a good cause and will help every person to realise their belonging to peace!
