The World Charitable Alliance Peacemaker holds the campaign “I Love PEACE,” the purpose of which is the promotion of the ideas of peace through support for art, sport and music. The ideologically consistent concept of the campaign will make it possible to draw the attention of the population of Russia to such pressing questions as: friendliness, respect for one another, help to those close to us, social responsibility, poverty and social inequality, the problems of young people, reproductive health, a healthy environment. The purpose of this campaign is to attract as many people as possible to the support of fundamental peacemaking values and to the promotion of the ideas of peace. Every year (since 2008) the New Economics Foundation[1] conducts a study according to which the number of “happy” people in a given country is identified, thanks to which a happiness index is formed, on the basis of whose results a list of countries is compiled in accordance with this index. According to data for 2012, Russia occupies 108th place in this list[2] out of 143 possible. The principal task of the campaign “I Love PEACE” is to raise the happiness index in our country, and more specifically — to draw people away from pressing problems and to demonstrate how beautiful the world can be, if only they smile at it. Within the framework of the campaign it is planned to hold various cultural events at which people could exchange their impressions, communicate, take part in sport, dance, listen to good music and simply rejoice in life. The results of the campaign could be: a reduction in the number of acts of violence, a rise in the social responsibility of the population, a reduction in the number of domestic conflicts, a lowering of the crime rate, an improvement of demographic indicators, an increase in people’s sociability, support for and elevation of the culture of the population.
